"Starting Here" started in Newburgh, NY in 2003... Kevin was working toward a college degree, trying to start a punk rock band, and trying to get girls...(He received a diploma in 2006... one out of three ain't bad!)
His acoustic guitar started to have more appeal than his sticker covered electric... playing original tunes sitting on a bench on campus drew bigger crowds than he'd ever had before... some songs started to form... and two years later he'd be opening for Jason Mraz...
KR sold about 100 copies of Starting Here the night he opened for Mraz... And as he signed autographs, took pictures with new fans, kissed babies, etc... he thought: this acoustic stuff pays off!
All 16 tracks were written by Kevin Reavey while living in Newburgh, NY during 2003 and 2004. The songs were recorded by Erik Franko in Hillsborough, NJ throughout 2004, and released on April 24, 2005.
